While it seems relatively easy to compress, pushing the pedal with your foot while you're bleeding a clutch, you need to anticipate the strength of that spring in the master cylinder.
If you pop out the snap ring that holds the push rod in, it means the main part of the master cylinder can come out too, with fluid and a spring right behind it. Saaboc was optimistic they won't but he's a positive thinker in a world full of negatives that need to be planned for.
Putting it all back together means getting the round end of the pushrod following the body of the master cylinder down into the bore, pushing by hand, which isnt easy, while having the yoke end ready to get lined up on the shaft of the pedal, which really gives you the leverage to hold all the works in, then slipping the clevis pin into the hole. Now it's easier.
Have that little rubber boot turned inside out so you can see the snap ring and the bore. Now holding the pedal down with one arm, you're working one handed with the snap ring pliers, trying to get the snap ring squeezed and down into the bore. If you get one ear of the snap ring down into the groove, you can maybe work the rest of it in, pushing on it with a screwdriver.
So have a screwdriver in reach, in case it's called for.
And also have a length of 2x4, or some other stick about 2 feet long, to jam into the lip of the driver's seat with other end on the clutch pedal, to hold it all together in case you need to take a break before getting snap ring in.
I can't remember if I used right angle, or straight, or 45 degree tipped snap ring pliers when I did this.
Good luck.
