I have 2 C900 16V turbo heads that I had cleand up at a machine shop I no longer do business with.
I told them only to clean the heads and they milled them and charged me for it anyways.
Their definition of clean and mine are very different.
The heads were full of crud when I got them back.
I spent a lot of money there on a different project, and did not feel good about their work.
Anyways, in passing the guy at the counter said, "I wouldn't use those heads, we saw cracks in them, even though you didn't want us to look for that."
If that's the case, why would you mill them without me asking?!
So I've since cleaned the heads up, and I cannot see any cracks.
I've searched the Internet for examples of what I should be seeing, and my heads seem perfect.
How hard should it be to spot cracks that should supposedly be visible?
I was thinking of getting the heads dye and pressure tested to be sure, but am wondering at what point am I just being taken for a ride.
