Zyglo would be nice if you are processing 100's or 1000's of aircraft parts, but you wouldn't need the sensitivity(ability to find minute flaws) for processing two cylinder heads, especially if the guy said he visibly saw cracks.
Searching around the net for dye penetrant, you can buy the cleaner, dye, and developer at http://www.shop.com for under $20. Dynaflux brand.
I did NDT(non-destructive testing) for over 12 years, and still have a magnetic yoke, black light, and a few cans of magnetic fluorescent particles < of course not applicable to aluminum heads, but nice to have around for ferrous parts.
