is actually very easily accomplished by using your Saab (or another vehicle) and a hydraulic jack as a press. Just jack up a car, place the pressure plate (fingers facing up) on a clean piece of plywood and slide it under the rail of the elevated car and use some sturdy spacers (wood scraps in my case) between the car and your old release bearing (making its normal contact with the plate fingers) and then gently lower the car an inch or two to depress the fingers. Then slide in the plate spacer tool and jack the car back up. Pull out the plywood and march back up to the front of the car for the installation round.
I've done this numerous times, sometimes in less than a minute of actual parts fussing. Your just using a heavy object as a makeshift press to depress the fingers.
Good luck, it's kind of a fun job.
