Not sure where you are located but any Saab specialty shop can get you a replacement/rebuilt unit from Eriksson Industries in CT. They are the go to for Saab transmission rebuilds. Either they will have in stock and can swap the unit out for you as I would imagine they want the core or you can send them yours for a rebuild. Really depends on how fast you need the car fixed.
Will not be cheap but they are the only ones around, in my opinion, who have the track record to rebuild them properly. Rebuilding is not for the faint of heart. It is a colossal pain in the rear and very labor intensive. Parts such as the pinion bearings etc. can also be heard to come by. Again, that is why I would recommend Eriksson as they warranty the item.
Last but not least make sure you go to a Saab specialist, not just a shop that does all foreign cars as well as Saabs whenever they come in unless they have a former Saab tech working for them. One really has to know what they are doing. Do not want a first timer messing with your car as I am sure you know the engine has to be pulled.
Good luck!
