Re: '93 9K cse with 120K mile.
I bought this car two and a half mos ago. I love this car!! It had a new AT put in it by the original owner at 83K miles and this transmission shifts very tight for the most part. I do have a question for those who are fimiliar with the shift patterns of this particular transmission.
1. When slowing down say for example for a light a 100 yards away when I reach a speed of ~ 35 MPH on the way down (foot off the accelerator), it automatically shifts down to 3rd somewhat "loudly" like manual transmission shifting rather than AT shifts that I am used to for other make cars. Is this normal for the SAAB? Is this a sporty feature of the car? Should I be concerned? It does not bother me so much because I have only driven MT cars in the past and one normally shifts down while slowing down for a light or a stop sign.
2. When lazily accelerating (slowly), and when you reach ~ 37 mph and if I don't give it gas and let the car go on at this speed it seems that the AT is tentative shifting into the 4th gear and then all of a sudden it will shift into the 4th gear with a slight jerk rather than normally when I keep giving it gas with the intent to go on up the speed (in which case it shifts beautifully into 4th).
PS: I changed the AT fluid/Filter last week thru the dealer.
