Something used should be fine, if relatively low mileage. Your oil viscosity sounds too low for that climate. Would recommend 10W40. It sounds like you have had chronic lubrication problems. I think your whole engine must be badly damaged, so I would recommend that you spend the money on a replacement engine. Good luck.
