...especially if it is turbo-equipped. Sure, some synthetics are "thin" and "low viscosity," and are rated as such, as are their fossil counterparts. A 10w40 sythetic uses the same visocity criteria to achieve that API rating as a fossil oil, so you pick the viscosity you need for your conditions regardless of base stock. This criteria is the flow rate of the oil at 0°C to pass through an oriface of a specific diameter. This gives the first numerical sequence (10w). The same goes for the second sequence (40), only at 100°C.
You are very confused about oils, bearings, and their relationship. If ball bearings need thinner oil, why does my Harley-Davidson with no sleeve bearings anywhere in the engine specify 20w50? A friend's new Honda auto with sleeve bearings specs at 5w20. Sythetic oils flow better at high temps, don't break down as quickly under heat, and are generally better formulated for extended drain intervals. Because of their heat-handling properties, they are highly recommended for any turbocharged car.
