a sample of only two, but this corroborates what I've said in the past
about AT's. JJ, who posts occasionally here, has a modified '95 Aero
that puts out about 250 hp (I forget what his torque figures are). He
has well over 100k on his automatic, also. He, also, changes the ATF
every 10k miles, or yearly. He also has intelligent driving habits -
he makes a point of knowing the shift points and is cautious to not have
WOT at said shift points. When downshifting, he selects the gear he
wants, then gives gas - not floor the pedal to make it downshift! With
clean ATF and a little precaution, it seems that the service life of an
AT can be extended beyond just 100k.
