Hi Julia,
Oh dear! Haynes does not mention exactly how to remove the windscreen-washer reservoir, apart from stating that you will have to remove the wing-liner (see other message for excellent URL for this).
BTW, do NOT try to repair polythene ( more properly, polyethylene, because NOTHING sticks to it, nothing at all) The only way to "repair" polyethylene is to heat-weld the damned stuff, and then you'll only get partial success as any damage will have to be heat-welded from both sides, impossible with a container like the reservoir.
Buy a good second-hand one. It's the best way.
