MY REQUEST: Please let me know what the sypmtoms were when your DI or CPS died:
- Which part failed?
- Did your car misfire before it died?
- Did your tach bounce while cranking?
- Would your car restart after cooling down?
***** My info below if you're curious ******
My '93 9000 Aero died on the freeway and would not restart. No warning or misfire: it just quit. Tach did not move when cranking, but posts to this board say this symptom can occur with bad DI's too (see link below).
Originally I assumed the DI was the problem. I put in a new DI 2 hours after the car originally died without attempting to start the on the old DI (duh?). The car fired right up on the new DI. (I did not replace the plugs; I just wanted to get the car home.)
The car died again 10 miles later. I parked it and let it sit for 2 hours. When I came back it started right up and got me home where it awaits my next move...
Thanks 1,000,000 for your help & Sorry for the verbose post.
