The stock Boges on my 9k were great until about ~230k and are still probably better than a lot of cars out there at 274k. I do now get some float over high-speed undulations and such though. If you do replace, go with a premium shock (Boge, Koni, Blistein) otherwise it will be worse that what’s on there now. Saab did well for us in the shocks department.
The exception might be if one shock is leaking (you’ll see fluid coming out of it). The old push down and see if it bounces technique isn’t too bad, though any car can be made to bounce a little with linebacker force.
