I think you are looking too hard for the -perfect- sealant. You can get Permatex copper (or silver?), which has worked fine for me on many different systems including JT, and provides good lube to get the pipes on and off. NEver had any issues with leaks. It's cheap it's at NAPA and everywhere else. YOu are no going to cure with a sealant what you cannot cure with a proper clamp, for the most part. I used the Walker stainless clamp... I fit the tubes and lapped the clamp over the seal. This pinches the end *slightly**, and will alow a complete wrap. Whatever piching there was it couldn't have been too bad as I've removed sections of the JT afterwards without problems. The reason I lapped is that I could not apply enough pressure otherwise to seal.
I really like the clamp that you linked, looks like it would clamp very tight
Hylomar is excellent, however I've only used their gasket prep on my head gasket, intake and exhaust....so I cannot help you there
