rotors will eat pads like a cheese grater eats cheese. Drilled isn't so bad, but the slots are the parts that actually shave the pad surface.
I agree with the others that your rotors are better suited for the track than daily driving. The slots only purpose is to provide escape for the hot gasses that build up during lots of heavy braking. These hot gases actually atomize the surface of the pad leaving behind copious amounts of brake dust.
Your brake booster may also be ailing. The soft pedal feeling isn't usually a pad problem and brake fluid isn't supposed to be compressible, neither is the brake pad itself. That is why your pedal feels spongy when there is trapped air. If you tried to bleed the brakes yourself, you may try a pressure bleeder and pump fresh brake fluid through your lines at the same time. Outside of that look into your booster.
I can say with confidence that the brake squishy feeling isn't because of your pads. It is because of a loss of pressure somewhere between the brake pedal and the calipers. Even with inferior pads, you will get a firm pedal. You just won't get the same longevity, dusting, and rotor wear with an inferior pad. Regardless, with your slotted rotors your pads will likely only live for about 10K miles tops...more like 5K.
Good Luck
