I agree with Noel. If your pedal is going to the floor it sounds like more than the pads. And it sounds like you should not drive this car until you figure it out. I've been thinking about this and I can't quite figure out what it could be. How does the first stop feel? Is the pedal good and solid? If is, but the second stop is soft, that actually sounds like you're boiling the fluid. How hard are you stopping? Did you use fresh fluid out of a sealed bottle? Did you just bleed, or did you flush all of the old fluid through? I once boiled my fluid when my handbrake was stuck on, and it was scary. Pedal went straight to the floor and nothing happened. Since then I change the fluid completely when doing brakes. It's the moisture that gets into the fluid over time that boils. If you're smelling the brakes, they may be getting hot enough to boil the fluid. I don't know why they would be that hot. Again, what kind of stops are we talking about? Does this happen with normal everyday driving? Could you have a pad dragging and heating things up? If you feel each wheel, is one noticably hotter?
Ask yourself what you're really after here. Drilled and slotted rotors look cool, but for a car that you need to drive everyday, they are not worth the trouble. They eat pads FAST. Look at it this way: Can the stock rotors and pads lock the wheel or activate the ABS? If yes, then what's limiting your stopping is not your brakes, it's your tires. The stock brakes on these cars are very good. Seriously, if you can get the stock brakes to fade, you better be on a track. Nothing that you should be doing on the street will get them to fade. Autocross is cheap, and so are track days. I can't recommend autocross enough- you can really hone your skills and go right up to and past your limits with almost no possibility of hurting anyone or anything. Do your racing there, have a blast, and slow down on the street. You never know who or what will jump in front of you.
As for pads, many here like the PBR deluxe pads from eEuroparts. I've got them on 2 9000's and I like them. I've got Zimmerman rotors on one car and Brembo on the other. The Zimmermans warped in a year, so I went with the cheaper Brembos for the other car. Even if they don't turn out to last longer, they were a lot cheaper, and I won't really mind replacing them.
I hope you get this figured out. It sounds dangerous.
