All turbos from 93 on are trionic cars of some version or another. However, starting in 94, the type and location of the crank sensor was changed, and it's been reported here before that with this later type, tach bounce is not a good indicator of whether or not the CPS is functioning properly.
I still drive 93s, and haven't experienced a CPS failure, so I'm no authority on that.
