the Saab demons.
The CSE
If it's a Chicago car, then it
is completely possible that it took a hell of
pothole hit, especially if it was a highway car and
took the Tri-State.
You should get an alignment, but
the lifetime alignment won't help if it's
a camber problem though. Kinda doubt it would be the strut -
seeing as it's the familiar noise and your replacement came with a
strut bushing on it too. Not much left -
ball joints and tie rod ends in good shape?
If I remember you took a look at these earlier.
Steering tight? Doesn't sound like a cv noise
you're describing though. Sounds like maybe
you should go for the alignment and wait and see.
You've got the weather for a little patience.
Up here, it's beastly to work under the car in the
winter. BTW, it's No. Illinois and I can see the
Northern Lights tonight, and my feet are cold.
Ok now the steering
Good luck - I hope you can
find a way to check the tightness of
the U joint nut without pulling the
steering column. You really don't want to do that,
you practically have to dismantle the interior of the
car. I don't know an easy way to get to it, but I'd
spend time under over and around it, and $ on tools I
don't own before I'd pull it.
