I wouldn't call this replacing the entire car. And at 130k, I've only had to do one of those (heater core).
I'd love to see a '78 Yugo engine last past 300k miles without a rebuild. I'd love to see the body condition and paint of a old Yugo, see how its holding up. I'd love to see the interior condition of an old Yugo after years of normal usage as compared to a Saab.
My uncle drove a '87 900S to 450k miles (bought it at about 200K) changing the oil only a handlful of times. Not something I'd ever do, but thats quality.
Yes older Saab transmissions may not be the best in the world. But thats one of the older things.
I can't say exactly what makes them have so much "quality" but they do.
