Thank you for the responses. Unfortunately, uninsured motorist only applies when you have the identity of the hit and run driver? And also only applies to bodily injury . At least that is what I'm told. Copy of entire policy on way to me. Problem I have now is they are totalling the car,and want be to buy back as salvage. Not happening. It is my car, and I am getting it repaired. I expect them to pay me something towards the repair. Ironically, their repair estimate is $3906, their offer for totalling is $3345. Not that big a difference. No way is the car going to get title change to salvage. That is what they want to do, but I hold the title, not them. Now they are busting my chops, telling me I cannot have rental anymore! No claims other than windshileds (2) during almost 10 years of paying premiums. Nice customer service. Travelers Ins, thank you very little. - Tom S.
