Some excellent observations were made, including how important it is that my parents are comfortable with their existing car (they've been driving Subies for 10 years) and the durability of Subarus. Ideally I would just sell the Saab to a third party and put the proceeds into the Subaru. Trouble is, my parents wouldn't let me; too proud. I was thinking I might get around their pride by selling them the Saab for as little as possible. But now I'm not so sure that's the best solution. Life is complicated!
