when it resets by turning it off, it is possibly the safety swith, it's located on the rear engine compartment, slightly outboard of the oil stick. It has 3 lines on it , one from the intake manifold, one going to a check valve and then the throttle body, the third one is about an inch long and vents to atmosphere. It also has an electrical connector, should be 30 ohms through the coil. It seems to fail when the engine compartment gets hot. The way it works, the ETC checks the resistance of the coil in the switch to make sure it will work if needed, when the temp goes up, the coil res can go up and the ETC sees this as a failure and shuts off the ETC system.
