Trailer hitch nirvana....almost ! Posted by vtsnaab [Email] (#26) [Profile/Gallery] (more from vtsnaab) on Thu, 6 Oct 2005 18:53:53 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi Folks.
I managed to score an OEM 9K hitch some while back, but only
recently got a car to put it on - the '91 9KT now has a hitch.
I gotta say - my admiration for the Saab engineers has always
been very strong - but after installing the hitch I must now
say that my level of admiration has positively soared !!!
What a wonderful bit of planning and engineering that whole
system is - and the three ready-made bolt holes behind the
bumper, ready to use, but invisible and unreachable until the
bumper is dismounted - amazing - after 14 years of non-use
those threads were as fresh as day one - this blew me away.
All that having been said, I am left with a question/problem:
Various folks here have mentioned a Hoppy adapter for trailer
wiring, and I have called every parts place in a 60 mile radius
and they all say it cannot even be special ordered anymore.
They are perfectly willing to sell me a harness kit for over $70
though, that is all they have listed as available anymore.
The question:
Is there a way to simply grab the R, L, and marker light
connections from this car - a diagram, or someone's experience
in doing this would be VERY appreciated at this point in time !!
Thanks,
mark
