FINALLY !! Why the converter is hard to get..... R. Frist posted some useful info that helped get me on the right track,
so first I must say: Thanks R. Frist !
Now here is why I haven't been able to score a Hoppy (Hopkins MFG) #48845:
The local parts stores cannot get it because Hopkins ONLY sells it in
a case lot, and their companies will not buy a case lot for a single.
Uhaul has their own part, which is now $40, which they will happily
sell me - but I won't pay that much !
Finally - Ace hardware has the Hoppy part in one of their warehouses,
and it costs 11.00 + freight to get it - but while waiting for answers
I took out my pen and pad and drew out what must be the 5 wire and 4
wire setups, and realized that some 3A diodes ($1.50/pair at RadShack)
properly wired in should do the trick for alot less....then TonyJ made
a similar post here about a bridge rectifier - so more info will
hopefully be here soon, and I will get this puppy wired right, phew !
Best Wishes,
mark
