If you open the hatch behind the driver's side tail light and fish around you should find the wiring harness and socket for trailer lights (another example of advance planing). If your trailer has North American tail light wiring you will need a solid state converter. Hoppy makes one for about $10. You will have to spice into the wires behind the socket but the instructions that come with the converter are pretty easy to follow if you have a test light or voltmeter. Unless your trailer has a dozen lights on it you do not need to run a new wire to the battery. Some of the heavy duty converters (and more expensive) must get their power directly from the battery.
