I don't know how the 91 security system is set up but on the 86 9k turbo my parents had we eventually ran into the same problem. The alarm system started drawing to much power and would kill the car overnight. What i ended up doing was removing the glove box to gain access to the alarm module and removing it. Not sure if the same setup is on your 91 9k. One thing that worries me though is whether this will solve it in your case. You say another students remote is triggering the alarm. I don't know how the remote locking system and alarm are integrated so it may still trigger the alarm. Only one way to find out though, get in there and get it out.
