ToddH,
I also have a '91 - a 9KT.
Granted it is not a CD, but it does have the factory alarm (which is
messed up).
If your car uses or responds to ANY remote it does not have the factory
alarm - there is not a remote of any kind even possible on a '91 OEM
anti-theft system.
Since it must have an aftermarket system, it should be very easy to find.
Just look for the usual sort of 4" x 4" black box with a multi colored
harness and a sort of molex connector.
Likely hiding places are inside the panels above the driver's legs in the
underside of the dash; behind the glovebox and inside the false firewall.
The wiring, unless very cleverly done should be very easy to tell from
all the standard Saab wiring.
Most aftermarket alarm boxes I have seen either have wiring info on them
or a clearly imprinted name/model, so info should be easy enough to get.
As another poster said - if it has ignition disabling you cannot simply
cut the wires or pull it's plug.
The factory module, just in case you want to check for it, is inside
the dash, sort of to the right of the glovebox hole.
Best of luck, and please share your success story when you manage it !
