After more reading of the carchives, I decided to try to find the Idle Air Controller on my no start 92 9000. Several posts, including Quasi's site showed that it should be under the throttle body although impossible to see. So I pulled the throttle body... no IAC... so where do the hoses from the throttle body lead? Under the top portion of the intake manifold. I finally found what looks like the IAC at the end of the large hose, it was tucked in between the "U" shaped portion of the intake manifold between #2 & #3 cylinders. Rubber attaching bracket around the IAC pushed onto a stud, electrical connector on the passenger side end, you can see it by looking through the intake manifold from the passenger side.
I could probably get the connector off the end of the IAC with a long pair of needle nose pliers, but then what? The IAC is buried in there and it looks impossible to pull out either end due to the large hoses attached and running through the runners of the manifold. Grrr :(
