I'll give a different response entirely. I have WAY too many cars. And I tend to keep them for a long time, maintain the hell out of them, and then one day, just sell them and get something else. None of my friends have ever understood why I do that, so I'll explain here:
The rule for owning cars is "Keep the car as long as you still love it." The second you stop loving it (no, not when it is being a pain, but when you stop loving it), then sell it.
I will do anything to keep a car running and in good shape if it still "does it" for me. And "does it" can take different forms. It can be something like the "ride and vibe" of my 1968 Country Squire. Or the Utility and muscle of my suburban. You name it. But I keep them till I don't love them.
If you love the Saab, keep it. If you are sick of it, and you are trying to find a reason to "Break up with it" just do it.
