In my view, ridges on rotors don't mean a thing.

That sort of ribbed surface still brakes just fine. If anything it adds to your disc's surface area a tiny bit. New pads wear in to fit very fast, just a few stops, and then work fine.

The dark ridges that are rust scale are another matter. Those typically start at inner and outer edges of a rotor and grow and move into the pad area over time, relentlessly - - they get both wider and thicker. The rust has a different friction coefficient than iron, it barely works at all for stopping.

And if you chisel it all off and grind the area down with an abrasive wheel, it doesn't work usually, as it's lower than the rest of the disk surface. Long before a new pad wears down to start contacting the formerly rusty area, it has started back rusting again and growing new scale.

So rotors with scale at edges, either get them turned if they're thick enough, or buy new rotors.

But a few months of sitting shouldn't build any kind of rust that won't wear right off. I doubt you did any harm.

As to used pads, if they aren't flat all the way, say from one of those rust scale places at edge of rotor wearing them away, they aren't much good except to throw in in an emergency. But if they're reasonably flat, even if ridged a little across their surface, go ahead and use them.
