well, i pulled the driver's side rotor. i had actually only replaced 3 of them 36,000 miles ago, and never did the driver's side cause it didn't look that bad AND the set screw was stripped. we'll see if that improves things, at least for now, the outer surface of the rotor, nearest the axle, was pretty rusty, built up, or the rest was worn down, so the pad was actually wearing away at an angle because it wasn't seating flat on the rotor, naturally. here's hoping that's a step in towards improvement.

oh, and i think i smell fuel around the car, but not under the 'new' gas tank, and not in the trunk, odd. i'll have to figure that out.
