on my "Silver Jubilee" 96 we shimmed the front suspension to give oodles of negative camber, and tyre wear remained just as even as before. However, tyres were narrow (165 section). I notice you are running 225/50s rather than 205/55s - could this in some way exaggerate the wear from what does seem to be poor alignment?
On the same car I hit a section of truck exhaust in the road at over 60 and the tracking didn't shift a millimetre, but you may have encountered a particularly rigid racoon.
