For what it's worth, I am almost exclusivly a DIY mechanic, and a pretty good one at this point... I also live in what seems to be the dead Saab capital of New England (Northern Vermont) and have access to many a Saab junkyard... So the cost of parts and repairs is not AS big a deal as it could be, what I am worried about is the frequency of major repairs (things that take me more than a couple hours or things that require long excursions to the junkyard) and overall durability...
Here's the rest of the story. Currently my wife and I own two subaru wagons with more than 500k between them (260k and 248k)... We just bought a house about 45 minutes away from where we work and I said "no way am I sitting in a crappy subaru for an hour and a half plus per day, we're getting something European and comfortable" Having owned one previously, I am a Saab fan and so am aiming in that direction... So the car will have to put up with a lot of driving, but not short, stop-and-go stuff, it will be coated in road salt all winter long, and it will regularly drive over potholes, dirt roads, mud, and frost heaves... Will the car mentioned be able to handle this for another 100k?
