I would say that if you are ok anticipating and planning for repairs and doing most of it yourself, then yes. The NG900 turbo is a great combination of comfort and performance. I just did not know how sensitive the engine is to oil and crank case ventilation problems and changing oil four times a year is not "neglect" in my book.
I like Subarus a lot, but by comparison they are more like a little truck than a sport sedan.
I do my part shopping online these days, if you don't mind a trip to the car boneyard, even better. The car is not hard to work on even for me. Most people here are much better with the diy stuff than I am. The things I mentioned can be done for a fraction of the cost if you plan ahead and have a second car to fall back on.
