As for the connection to the battery, it must be leaking a bit of acid here and there. That leads to corrosion of the positive battery cable, as well as acid on the various places beneath the battery. This wears away the paint, yadda, yadda, and with the combination of the salt and winters here in the Northeast, lots of corrosion and rust forming. :o(
This car is getting to me. I go to spend several hundred on the ECU, to finding out that would be over $1K (needed a new BPC), plus I have a vacuum leak, which means my turbo will soon fail (Frank's, from SQR, words), a busted stud at the manifold, and the positive battery cable ($100 for the stinkin' cable!?!?!) and new battery, and I also need to finally do front brakes. So add it all up, and this sucker is darn expensive, and more is going into it than it is worth. A mid-life crisis for her...
Why do we love these cars? There is a monte carlo yellow Viggen in the classifieds that is looking awfully good. :o\ But I feel as if I am past the point of no return. Oh yeah, those two runs when I had the hole duct-taped, and was able to push in on the pedal, needle all the way PAST red!! :o) The grin on my face, I guess that makes it worth it. Now only if I could straighten things out so I can run it like that occassionally (permanently) instead of not trying to boost at all!
