Unfortunately my replacement MP IC has yet to arrive (see old posts). More trouble is they won't, and I don't have the hoses to make it an easy plug and play. :o( Being a cheapie, I'm holding out to search some wreckers for the hoses before I shell out the $200 to Saab (site-sponsor).
So, I am left to try to replace the torn hose, which is the reason for the "upgrade" to begin with, to tide me over 'til the IC and hoses arrive.
Has anyone had trouble removing the old (inlet-outlet same side) IC hoses? Some assembler decided it a good idea to screw on the gear clamp with the screw facing up on the bottom hose, which means it is hidden under the top hose and thus inaccessible. I figured I might have better luck taking the top hose off and going at it that way, but after I undid the clamp, I was unable to remove the (top) hose. I pulled as best I could, and tried to pry it free with no luck; I was quite worried about breaking the end tank (plastic and all). It's almost as if the hose was fused on. :o(
Any thoughts? I guess next, I will be removing the bumper and trying it that way, although I am not so sure I will have more access that way - I hate doing work twice. Guy at Advance Auto Parts found me a radiator hose that I should be able to cut to replace the 90 degree bend that ripped. I spent a couple of hours on this, and retired. It got the best of me (and a socket to boot).
So the saga continues. (The path to performance is awfully pricey) Thanks.
