Since your car is an auto, the fuel cutoff may be even lower than 15psi. I have used an MBC in a '99 9-3 base (185hp) auto and found that the boost cannot be increased nearly as much as in manual versions. I don't have numbers since I have no gauge. The performance difference is noticable, but it's not scarry like Dean describes. If your car is the HOT model (205HP), the MBC may make even less difference in increasing the maximum boost pressure. It's still worth a try since the factory system doesn't allow pressure to come on as quickly as it can, so the MBC will likely give a noticable decrease in turbo lag if nothing else.
You should have little to worry about in terms of durability. As I've already said, the performance increase you get won't be huge, so the increased load on the engine/turbo will be slight. In addition (contrary to popular belief) the Trionic system is not entirely disabled by using the MBC. While it cannot control boost pressure, it is still capable of increasing the fuel mixture and adjusting ignition timing to cope with any possibility of knock. Trionic Saabs are capable of detecting knock before it is audible, so they provide much better protection than older APC systems that rely on a microphone on the cylinder head to "listen" for knock.
For Jim, MBC's have not been proven to provide significant performance increases in T7 cars (MY2000+), but people do claim faster spoolup.
