"...the new Epsilon platform, due in the 2003 model year. In addition to underpinning the next-generation Opel Vectra and Omega, it will be the base for the redesigned Saab 9-3 and 9-5, Saturn L series, Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac Grand Am and Oldsmobile Alero." — http://detroitnews.com/autosweekly/9905/05/talk/talk.htm
It isn't news that the new 9-3 will be on a Saab/Opel designed GM funded Epsilon platform and few really know what the exterior will really look like. I like Saab for many reasons, but the main switch from my Japanese makes was the uniqueness. If Saab is going to cross breed with the likes of a Malibu and Grand Am (and it isn't going to be just the platform), the uniqueness, among other things, is going to be lost. I am not the poster of negativity -- read my other posts. I love my new Saab and am very glad I chose to buy one while they still around.
