I had the windshield wiper problem. I didn't need a anything from anyone to tell me what to do i just tightened the nut (after applying loctite). If you think that SAAB should do a service recall on a loose nut on a wiper your a bit out there. There is nothing wrong with an advisory that states "fix when advised by a customer".
Common sense prevails, the reason cars cost the way they do in part is because of foolishness like this by people like you complaining till the end of the earth until someone listens to you.
Good Luck and I will apologize to my Saab mechanic for you.
