In the '01 Saab 9³, I try not to let it go below about 1600 rpm after the shift, but if I'm passing or doing an on-ramp, I'm not afraid to go to redline.
'98 Accord - Well, it's an automatic, so it does it's boring thing.
'95 Integra - Sometimes I'll shift at 2000 if I'm trying to behave myself, or if traffic won't let me run. But other times... Well, I've got 8000 rpm & I'll use every last one.
So I can't pick a number. I use the whole spectrum depending on what I'm thinking at the moment. I try to shift so I get the acceleration I want at about 70% or 80% of the gas pedal.
