I welcome and VERY MUCH appreciate any comments, but I noticed Jeff and Dean have some experience on this from the BB history ;-)
Should I be able to disconnect the intake tubing at the box (K&N panel alreay installed) to increase the intake airflow, thereby bypassing the OEM intake trumpet? What about drilling holes into the bottom of the OEM box to increase airflow while also removing OR keeping the intake tubing in-place? Will any of the preceeding alone or combined cause problems/damage down the road? Since installing the K&N panel I notice the intake sound more (it sounds like a running toilet in another part of the house when it's sucking) but not any dramatic performance increase. I'm not convinced a cone is the way to go which is why I ask plus I've already spent the 40-bucks for the panel. Also, before I put the K&N in, I removed the tube/elbow from the box and drove around for a few days with the OEM filter in place. Got a rougher idle but I though performance off the line was slightly improved but wasn't sure I was doing any damage. Sorry for going on and on and...
