Owner of a 1997 900 S, with 97,000 miles -- no serious mechanical horror stories, so "Sadie" has been real good, plus my driving style has been extremely conservative, mellow. about 1K miles per month, highway driving
Let me preface by saying I am a firm believer in the "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it" principle .. (I am also a starving actor, literally)
I am nearing the 100K mark and have forgone the 65K major and 95K major services (forgive me Father for I have sinned), I've simply changed oil every 3K, replaced fluids, changed tires, (brake pads unchanged) on a consistent basis
This is my daily driver in Los Angeles and since I am nearing 100K, I wanted to get y'alls feedback regarding the ABSOLUTE ESSENTIALS in terms of maintenance (i.e. "changing spark plugs a must" replacing cabin air-filter a must" etc.) -- moreover, an explanation of why replacement is essential as it relates to functionality would be appreciated.
The car is running fine, no noises, no performance issues, etc. is this a testament to the reliability and quality of Saab?? Or am I skating on thin ice and sh** is going to hit the fan given my lack of major tune-ups?
Thanks in advance everyone for your input!
