As a college student with a 1997 900SE turbo my maintenance routine is similar to yours. I use shell rotella oil (cheaper than M1) every 5k.

Do the bosch fuel filter. Its 6 $, very easy to get to and replace and will save your very expensive injectors.

You are in LA, do the coolant flush and check all hoses. Overheating on the highway could be the end of Sadie in LA traffic. You can use orange dexcool(? the orange coolant availble cheap everywhere) if you flush the system completely with a hose and get all the green or blue stuff out. Orange coolant is cheaper than the SAAB stuff. A thermostat repalcement is cheap insurance as well at only a few dollars, get the 82 degree while you are at it since you are in a hot climate (engine will cool faster).

I'd def do plugs at only 5 or 6$ for the set, if you pull the old plugs and they are gapped to spec still and clean you can just save em for another few thousand miles. I think you'll find that they should be replaced most likely if its been more than 10000 or 15000 miles.

Manual or Automatic? If manual, how well does it shift? Manual tranny fluid is alot cheaper than accelerated wear on your transmission. Also if manual with 100k do spend 60$ and put a spare clutch cable in your trunk. It will break and it will leave you stranded if you don't replace it as it wears or have a spare for a roadside repair.

What's going to kill you price wise is when you need to replace the control arms, strut mounts and or struts, especially if you aren't DIY. I got through this this last year.

Good luck,
Nicholas
