wow. great. that's alot of helpful information. Thanks for that! Yeah. one of the indies said they would put a re-manufactured Bosch OEM alternator in and it would run $334! That's a pretty substantial markup when I could get one on eeuroparts or any other site sponsor for less than $200!

I'm a little paranoid to bring it to somebody who isn't Saab saavy -- even if they do charge less. It's reassuring to know that if anything else suspicious happens while they are in there they would know it.
It's much to cold and nasty out here in NY to do it myself (I don't have a garage) so it looks like I'll be spending another $500 on it. I'm really beginning to hate this vehicle... =(
