Ben-- The quote does seem high. But can't tell from your note what else was damaged--radiator etc.
One thought that may be a compromise outcome if you really want to fix the car and I am surprised that Geico did not quote you on used (Saab OEM parts). I dealt w/ Allsate on a 9000 w/ extensive side damage and they were going that route to try to avoid totalling and the adjuster showed me all detail and worked w/ me. Regrettably w/ labor costs the math did not work, but the adjuster was very open and willing to "deal."
W/ good quality parts from a reputable supplier and an A-list body shop you would probably come out fine as it seems that there is no structural damage to the car.
Worth a go if you really want to keep the car. Otherwise take the $$$ and buy replacement used Saab I'd say...lots of good ones out there w/ depressed prices.
Good luck.
