I have 900SET 97 with 77k. I use brakes hard. (16k for fronts on Sentra SER)Replaced front pads at 45k and just did rear at 76k. My guess is that your dealer is a money grubbing crook.
GM service bulletin on brakes says DO NOT RESURFACE ROTORS UNLESS THEY ARE GROOVED TO THE DEPT OF THE TOP OF THE HEAD ON A DIME!!! IF THE DIME WON'T FIT THE GROOVE IT ISN'T BIG ENOUGH TO WORRY ABOUT. They feel you do more damage turning rotors than running with minor grooving.
With my recent rear pads, I got some pedal pusation for about a week after putting in new pads. This has now gone away and everything works fine. When I did the front pads without surfacing the rotors, they worked great from day one. My recommendation is find someone to put in new pads and see how they work. Worst case is you have to pull and turn the rotors later or replace them, a 30 minute job. Unless rotors are cracked or really out of true, there is NO reason to replace them.
