Thanks Michael; I think your observation about the ramp (mine is homemade rough cut 2x12 oak x 2 that is about 4 inches high) contributing to greater drainage is accurate. Maybe the flush gets a bit more out than usual as well. The cooling engine + 1/2 qt. additional = 5 qts now leaves me with about 3/16 inch below full reading on the dipstick. I'll check it tomorrow morning and maybe bother with topping it off then. I am looking forward to when the car will stop being new to me so I can at least change the oil without having to ask questions. Just for the record; the V6 drain plug takes a 1/2" 6 pointed socket and the torque is 41 lbs. (I loosened it before adding the flush just in case - I learned that here)
Glad to hear about your V6 Carl; my impression is reliability is good if you do the timing belt and I do enjoy driving the car.
