$2000/year in service seems a bit high, unless you have a lemon. Dealers tend to gouge on repairs, my suggestion would be to find a good local Saab mechanic. I've found it much cheaper than the dealer.
A quick scan of my car expenses shows just about $2K in 3 years, this includes DI replacement, pulley/tensioner replacement, upper strut bearing replacement, 4 new tires and brakes. I did the clutch myself, but was quoted $700 by my mechanic.
I've also spent money on mods to the car, but this is something the average owner is not going to encounter.
