Sorry to hear your bad luck. Since the foglight is self inflicted you can't really consider this cost of owership. Would one say driving into a wall as cost of ownership with $4,000 in repairs?
A-arms are expensive, as they are with VW and Volvos as well. Since the Passat wears them at 50K miles without a warranty replacement I would say that you've done quite well with yours. Why 2 allignments in one year?
Tires will wear out on any car and replacement costs range depending on where you buy them. Are you buying your parts at the dealer or somewhere else?
