Anders, I'm (almost) one step ahead of you, I ordered two exhaust gaskets, just in case the rear has to come off also on the oil pan gasket project, they're only about $6 each. I also ordered the grooved pully and the smooth pully, don't know when or if they've been replaced, and for about $50 total, what the heck.
D in D: I also ordered an oil pan gasket. The oil pan gasket so far has been a "thinking" project, I'm trying to figure the best way to approach it. The manual and alldata both say to remove the sub-frame and support the engine in a hoist. (1) I don't want to spend $$ on a hoist for a one-time project, and (2) I don't want to buy a torque wrench that goes up to about 160 ft/lbs to torque the subframe and (3) I don't want to remove the subframe b/c of its age, bolts are probably seared shut, etc.
I will likely support the engine at the transmission with a block of wood and a floor jack, I assume you use the hoist only for safety, the engine's not supported on subframe? I was able to access all of the torx bolts on the pan using a 7" wobble extension. There is a "guard" or plate of some sort attached to the tranny, that the directions say to remove, pretty self-explanatory. I recall I was able a few weeks ago to get a female driver up in there in between the tran and the oil pan to tighten (all?) the bolts, so there is enough room. The oil is dripping onto the serp. belt and splashing onto everything else (in addition to my other leaks)
Do you have the directions? b/c while I'm in there, I figure I'll clean it out, there is an anti slosh baffle and the oil pump pickup that I'll R/R and clean up also while I'm in there. Of course, I'll post after I do it, likely in a couple of weeks.
And my grey permatex VC repair is also holding tight. Car leaks from everywhere else, though.
