"Basic Engine" manual is what I have too. I don't have the page #'s here at work, but if you look elsewhere in that manual (maybe under dismantling/re-assembling) it goes into more detail on the oil pan specs and removal/assembly procedure, it gives a diagram for bolt tightening order (crosswise, like a wheel), and torque (like 8 ft/lbs or something low like that, don't quote me on that) and you have to put some sort of loctite or similar in some crack in the engine block. So far I can't find that O ring online, I figure I'll either re-use it or hop on the motorcycle and go to Murray's and get one, obviously I won't be able to take the car there!
Here's something I figured out yesterday after my last post: you don't need to remove the exhaust manifold; rather, the exhaust header pipe goes into the manifold by two bolts, for which there is a different gasket (not the "manifold gasket"); those bolts should be easier to reach/PBlast/tighten than the manifold bolts.
I've done enough "positive visualization" of this project, mechanically it is not that complex, hopefully I'll actually do it sometime soon!
